Patient Education
Patient
education is an integral and essential part of medical care.
Understanding and feeling your own self will play an active
role in determining your health, along with the advice and
care of your physician. Many digestive ailments may be exacerbated
by deficient nutrition, bad habits and behavior. The more
you understand about your body and your condition, the more
your physician can be closely involved in making you feel
better.
We have a series of pamphlets at our office with a variety
of topics that are relevant to our day to day practice of gastroenterology
and many reflect the instructions and advice commonly given
to our patients. These pamphlets are not intended to be all
inclusive, nor are they a substitute for consultation with
your physician. We share this information with you to help
you begin to understand your digestive health concerns.
We also highly recommend that you visit National
Institute of Diabetes & Digestive & Kidney Diseases (NIDDK),
a branch of the National Institutes
of Health, to learn more
about your condition.
