What is Gastroentorology?

Gastroenterology is a specialty of internal medicine which focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and disorders affecting the gastrointestinal tract and associated organs (such as the liver, pancreas and biliary tree). This include a wide range of medical concerns such as swallowing disorders, heartburn, ulcers, abdominal pain, weight loss, diarrhea, colitis, constipation, jaundice, bleeding, colon polyps and cancer of the digestive tract.

Our practioners have offices in Farmington Hills, Southfield, Warren and Novi. They perform ambulatory endoscopy at both hospital and free standing outpatient endoscopy centers. As specialists in gastroenterology they often act as consultants, in assisting other physicians in the management of difficult and complex cases.

Our practitioners are affiliated with major metroplitan Detroit area hospitals including William Beaumont, St. John Providence Southfield and Novi, St. John Macomb and the Detroit Medical Center.
